Ernst Gülich and Hans Pohl set up Ernst Gülich Hydrauliktechnik, one of the first companies in Germany to specialise in the repair and maintenance of hydraulic components.

The work is carried out at the factory in Hürth-Efferen and also at clients’ premises.
The company also trades in hydraulic components from leading manufacturers.

The company moves into a new factory building at Kerpen.
The decisive factor here is the capacity for further extensions to the factory premises and the excellent connections to the A4 (Aachen/Cologne) and A61 (Koblenz/Venlo) motorways.

The company’s repair and maintenance portfolio is expanded to include facilities for assembling hydraulic cylinders from new.

The production area is further extended to meet increasing market demand and accommodate the company’s growing workforce.


Acquisition of the servicing and commercial dealership Commercial Hydraulics.


Acquisition of the servicing and commercial dealership Sauer Danfoss.


Hans Pohl becomes sole owner and managing director.

Affiliate company h+p ölhydraulik GmbH is established.

The new company begins to design and build its first hydraulic plant and machines.
Acquisition of the servicing and commercial dealership Bosch Rexroth.

The company’s offices and factory buildings are extended.

Ernst Gülich dies.

Hans Pohl goes into well-earned retirement and hands the company over to his sons.

The company is taken over by Ferdinand Pohl, son of the co-founder Hans Pohl.


The two companies are merged to create Hydraulik-Technik Gülich – Pohl GmbH, thereby combining and further extending the range of services provided.

Developments include the installation of the latest CAD workstations, extension of the testing facilities and the recruitment of additional qualified staff for the existing operations: repair and maintenance – new cylinder production – hydraulics unit assembly.

The company acquires ISO 9001 certification.

David Pohl takes up a training post in his father’s company, thereby
securing the future of the family business.


The company is awarded TÜV-Rheinland (Technical Control Board) approval as a specialist in accordance with §19 IWHG.
